This past weekend, 19 girls proudly represented the Charleston Youth Hockey Association (CYHA) as they took part in their first tournament and jamboree of the season in Charlotte, North Carolina. CYHA fielded two teams — a combined 10U/12U team and an 8U jamboree team — marking an exciting milestone for the growing girls’ hockey program in Charleston.

The weekend was filled with energy, smiles, and team spirit as the players hit the ice against teams from across the region. For many of the girls, this was their first time participating in an all-girls event — and the experience did not disappoint. The players showcased great teamwork, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm from start to finish.

Beyond the games, the weekend provided a chance for the players and families to bond, share laughs, and celebrate the continued growth of girls’ hockey within CYHA. The excitement and confidence gained from the event will carry over into the rest of the season as the teams continue to build their skills and friendships.

A HUGE thank you goes out to the coaches, parents, and volunteers who made the trip possible and supported our players every step of the way.

The future of girls’ hockey in Charleston is bright — and this weekend in Charlotte was another strong step forward!
