The Charleston Youth Hockey Association will be hosting a new event this year to kick off our 2016-2017 season and to raise funds for our Scholarship Fund and Hockey Programs.  

The date of the event is October 1st, and it will be held in the old skate park at the Carolina Ice Palace.  The fun starts at 5:00 and goes until 9:00 p.m.  

We hope that you can come out and celebrate the new season with us.  We will have a Lowcountry Boil, Hamburgers and Hot Dogs to eat, we will have music (and a few of you may want to kick up your dancing shoes!), and there will be a silent auction, raffles and a 50/50 drawing.  Soft drinks and water are available for purchase and there will be a Cash Bar.  Tickets are $27 per person.

We will also welcome players that are here for the SC Stingrays preseason camp.  They will join us before they open up camp the following day.  As you may have heard, the SC Stingrays will not host any preseason games here in Charleston this year.  They are headed to Alaska for an extended road trip, so this may be your only opportunity to meet some of the players before the season starts.  The Stingrays will also have a Kids Club table set up so you can get your kids signed up for the upcoming season.

The CYHA awards between $4,000 to $7,000 in scholarships each season to help out our hockey families who need it. Scholarship funds are also used to run special programs and training sessions as well as purchase items needed to run these programs. While most of the scholarship money goes to ensure every child has a chance to play hockey many of the dollars are used in ways to benefit all players in the association. In order to do this each year, we have to actively find a means of funding the Scholarship Fund.  This season, we are trying a new event where we hope you will have a fun time, enjoy some great food and help us keep our Scholarship Fund fully funded.

All ticket sales to this event will be done online, and the number of tickets sold is limited to 300.  You can use the enclosed link to purchase your tickets.  We are asking that you only use the link for member purchases for now, so we give all of our members an opportunity to purchase tickets if they would like.  We will release the link to the general public on Sunday, September 11th, so please get your tickets early if you plan on coming out.  We expect this to sell out quickly, so plan accordingly.
